What's a Limited-Format Event?
When you enter a Limited event, building your deck is part of the competition. You have to build a deck using only the cards you get during the event, and you get to keep all those cards. You need to provide any tournament packs or booster packs required when you join. If you don't already own them, Magic Online will prompt you to purchase what you need.

There are three Limited formats available on Magic Online. Click the links below for specific information about each format.

In a Sealed Deck event, each player receives one tournament pack and a number of booster packs.

In a Booster Draft event, you and a group of players begin with three booster packs apiece. Each player opens a booster pack, selects a card, and then passes the pack to the next player.

In a Rochester Draft event, you and a group of players begin with three booster packs apiece. Only one booster is open at a time, and players take turns selecting cards from the open booster.

In Magic Online, you build Limited decks on the Deck Builder screen. The minimum deck size is forty cards. Any cards you don't put in your main deck become your sideboard.

Where do I Play Limited-Format Events?
There are several places you'll find Limited events:

In the Casual Play room, you can play Limited-format games that don't affect your Magic Online Limited rating.

In the Leagues room, you'll find Limited-format leagues you can join. League games also don't affect your Magic Online ratings.

You'll also find Limited-format tournaments in the Premier Events and Sanctioned Play rooms.
